MARCH 2011 – 3

As businesses look forward to the new financial year budgets are being organised and decisions made on how to spend some of their valuable money. Sue Eccles, the Director of The Trout Hotel in Cockermouth, has already made one decision about some of her marketing budget and that is to continue promoting the hotel via the activities of Richard Barnard and his rally team RABrallyesport.

Sue said ' Having gained some national television exposure for the hotel on Motors TV, seeing the hotels' name watched by thousands of people on RABrallyesport videos on YouTube, and had the hotels' name taken around the country to the various rallies entered we have been delighted about the level of exposure for the hotel through our sponsorship of Richard's team'.

The next events for the Cockermouth team will be in April with Richard, and his co-driving father Andy, entered on the next three rounds of the Association of North West Car Clubs Rally Championship with rallies in Lancashire, Warwickshire and Lincolnshire. The team will be hoping for a good run of results to lift them up the championship points table.

Businesses are getting behind the improving West Cumbrian team with Lakeland Scaffolding of Workington offering support for the first April event, the Legend Fires SMC Stages, and Opie Oils, a national oil and lubricants firm, backing the team for the 2011 season.

Richard commented ' As a young driver looking to make his way in the rallying world I am so grateful to the sponsors that have supported me so far in my quest for success and hope I am repaying their faith in me by being a good ambassador for their businesses.'

The team will also continue to carry the message that Cockermouth is a great place to visit by having the Cockermouth Chamber of Trade stickers conveying that message on their Subaru Impreza rally car whereever it goes.

The teams progress can be monitored via their website www. rabrallyesport.co.uk or their Facebook page and on Twitter.
